Geyser Ecotar B30 Universal Multi-Component Extreme Iron and Hardness Removal Media

Geyser Ecotar B30 is an ultra-high-capacity multi-component ion-exchange filter media engineered for comprehensive water purification from deep artesian wells and boreholes with anomalously high mineral levels. Developed specifically to target extreme concentrations of dissolved divalent iron and severe calcium/magnesium hardness in waters with low organic content, this highly efficient media acts simultaneously to soften water and eliminate heavy metals. It provides a predictable and cost-effective single-vessel solution for demanding domestic, cottage, and industrial water treatment installations facing extreme scale buildup and persistent rust issues.

This advanced multi-component media incorporates a balanced blend of food-grade ion exchange resins with optimized varying bead sizes. The integration of a high-density fine-mesh black cation exchange resin significantly increases the active contact surface area within the column, delivering double the operating efficiency in extracting scale-forming hardness and dissolved ferrous iron compared to conventional single-bed resins. Ecotar B30 is designed for deep well water that is initially transparent but turns yellow-brown and forms a heavy precipitate upon standing, as well as water that forms abundant scale when boiled. It works dynamically across a wide pH range (0–14) without requiring raw water pH correction. Due to its optimized bulk density, the media requires lower backwash flow rates to expand and reclassify, protecting the system from media loss and ensuring stable, long-term filtration performance. The entire composite bed undergoes simple and economical regeneration using a standard sodium chloride (NaCl) tablet brine solution.

Removal Capabilities:

  • Extreme Hardness Removal: Effectively extracts anomalously high levels of scale-forming calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions to eliminate abundant scale deposits, hard water deposits, and protect plumbing systems.

  • High-Concentration Iron and Manganese Reduction: Captures extreme levels of dissolved ferrous iron (Fe²⁺) and divalent manganese (Mn²⁺), preventing rust stains on sanitary ware and eliminating metallic taste.

  • Organic Matter Absorption: Functions as an auxiliary organic scavenger, removing baseline natural organic matter (NOM) and reducing residual water color.

  • Ammonium Retention: Securely traps dissolved ammonium ions commonly found in deep, mineralized well water supplies.
