This high-performance resin features a robust styrene-DVB gel matrix with sulfonic acid functional groups, functioning in a standard sodium-cycle (Na+) exchange process. Its highly durable structure guarantees a stable, effective operation for more than 5 years under recommended operational conditions. Thanks to its optimal bulk density, the media ensures highly economical water consumption for backwashing alongside efficient salt intake during the regeneration cycles. While optimized primarily for reliable total hardness extraction, DOWEX HCR-S/S offers excellent resistance to osmotic shock and can safely operate in a wide pH range (0–14) and temperatures up to 120°C (250°F). The resin achieves rapid and complete regeneration using a standard sodium chloride (NaCl) pellet salt brine solution.
Removal Capabilities:
- Total Hardness Removal: Effectively extracts calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions to eliminate scale buildup and protect plumbing systems.
- Soluble Metal Reduction: Traps baseline concentrations of dissolved ferrous iron and manganese strictly under non-oxidizing, co-current conditions
